Sports Injuries

Sports Injuries

We treat many athletes at Boost health collective, from a recreational level through to an elite level, including children and young athletes. Our athletes benefit from regular soft tissue therapy and podiatry treatments to keep them performing at their peak potential. Our athletes value treatments that are preventative in nature and will usually come in before an event to ensure they are in their best form, as well as post event for recovery treatments. When sports injuries do occur though, we play an integral role in the recovery and rehabilitation process.

Some of the common sports injuries that we can assist with are:
  • Corkies
  • Ankle sprains
  • Blisters
  • Runner’s Knee (ITB pain)
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Shin splints
  • Muscle strains & tears
  • General muscle soreness from training or competing

We are often asked whether we do Sports Massage at Boost. In response to this, we consider sports massage to be encompassed in the role of a Myotherapist or Remedial Massage Therapist and not a modality that sits separately and alone. So rest assured that all of the Soft Tissue Therapists at our clinic are experienced and qualified to perform “sports massage”.

We currently treat athletes playing netball, basketball, tennis, football and soccer, as well as triathletes, cyclists, swimmers, gymnasts, dancers, cheerleaders, weight-lifters and runners.

If you have a sports injury and would like the help of one of our Soft Tissue Therapists or Podiatrists to speed up your recovery, please give us a call on 03 9894 2463 or book online to make an appointment.
