sports injury and prevention

190203 Boost 035

At Boost Health Collective we are not only passionate about exercise and sports, but also about keeping our patients doing the activities they love.

We understand that injury through sport is a common occurrence. Often injuries and relapses are a result of one of two issues: a lack of progression, therefore your body is not conditioned to the movements you wish it to perform. Or, progressing too fast, which causes muscle fatigue, resulting in injury.

Using a strong framework and a gradient approach is important in both rehabilitation and injury prevention. Our aim is to help you work with your issue, not around it. Our team of Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists have worked closely alongside sports clubs and sports individuals. By implementing thorough, sports injury prevention and rehab knowledge, our sports specialists create structured management plans to ensure each patient progresses without fear of injury.

Ways We Rehab And Prevent Sports Injuries

  • Graded exercise programs
  • Soft tissue treatment
  • Strength and conditioning training
  • Education
  • Taping and strapping
  • Athletic development classes

Our Collective Approach

To develop the best treatment plan for you, we can also utilise the expertise of our Podiatrists and Myotherapists. By taking a multidisciplinary approach to your development we can offer you the opportunity to perform at your best.

Our Podiatrists are able to do foot, knee and hip assessments in order to see if your gait or foot positioning is affecting your performance. By doing a biomechanical analysis, our Podiatrists will be able to determine the source of your pain or discomfort. From there a management plan will be recommended, which will be integrated into you exercise consults.

Better outcomes often result from a combination of exercise and manual soft tissue treatment. Myotherapy is an important part of injury prevention and rehab. Myotherapists will apply special testing to assess your range of movement and determine any restriction or pain. Using a combination of soft tissue techniques, your myotherapist will incorporate a treatment which will work complemetary to your exercise prescription.
