Meet Our Myotherapist Molly Sheehan
Why did you become a Myotherapist?
After highschool I studied science, specifically anatomy and physiology, and at the end was a bit lost with what direction I wanted to go in. I had always had an interest in working in the Allied Health world and after having great results from my own experience with manual therapy, I found Myotherapy. It perfectly combines my passion for wanting to help people and my intrigue in the human body and how it works, so it felt like the perfect fit.
What sort of patients do you most enjoy helping?
I love treating all patients, but have a particular interest in treating sporting related injuries or dysfunctions and getting people back to playing the sports they love.
Interesting things you have done in your career?
I’ve had the opportunity to work with numerous Queensland NRL teams when they have been here in Melbourne, as well as CollingwoodFC in the AFLW department. I love footy, and as a footy player myself, it was very exciting to see what happens behind the scenes at an AFL club.
What do you do to keep fit?
I play footy in the winter and try to get to the gym as often as I can.
Greatest sporting achievement?
Maybe kicking the winning goal in my U11s soccer grand final? Unfortunately I haven’t won a premiership in footy… yet.
If you could jump on a plane and visit one city, which would it be?
Probably somewhere in Italy in the summer. It looks so beautiful and I’m a sucker for a bowl of pasta.
Favourite thing to do outside of work?
I love spending time and doing anything and everything with my friends and family.
Where did you grow up?
I spent most of my childhood in WA, but lived overseas in both Africa and South America for a while before moving to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
What is your food weakness?
Definitely a cheese platter with fresh bread and olives. Yum.
