Meet Our Physiotherapist Marek Pacewicz
Why did you become a Physiotherapist?
I became a Physiotherapist because I am passionate about enabling people to move better and do more in their specific functional goals and needs. I want people to be strong and resilient in their present and future
What sort of patients do you most enjoy helping?
I enjoy helping motivated patients. With an interest in helping elderly people and also with people who play sports (particularly basketball and soccer.
Interesting things you have done in your career?
I had the opportunity to work in Vietnam at an orphanage helping children with disabilities. Prior to studying physiotherapy I had also completed studies in nutrition and exercise science and behaviour.
What do you do to keep fit?
I play a lot of basketball competitively and socially. I also do some strength and power training at the gym and with bands at home. Additionally I have recently started doing some sprinting and vertical jump training.
Greatest sporting achievement?
Most recently having won a couple domestic basketball competitions and a soccer championship. Also winning a few MVPs in soccer and first places (high jump, triple jump, 100m, 200m) in my junior’s.
If you could jump on a plane and visit one city, which would it be?
I would love to go back and spend more time in Lisbon. However I also would like to go somewhere I haven’t been before and want to see Northern Canada.
Favourite thing to do outside of work?
Playing basketball. I also really like food, watching TV shows and movies, and board/card games.
Where did you grow up?
Born and bred in Melbourne, mainly around East/South East suburbs
