Meet Our Myotherapist Kelvin Hillier
Why did you become a Myotherapist?
I previously worked as a personal trainer helping people to discover the joy and benefits of movement. I then experienced a few big injuries playing sport and felt like I’d lost a big part of my identity while unable to play. I then decided I wanted to help people navigate the the recovery process and empower them with the knowledge and positive mindset that they CAN and WILL return to do what they love.
What sort of patients do you most enjoy helping?
I love working with the weekend warriors who are passionate about their exercise or sport, helping to empower them with the confidence and knowledge to keep moving.
Interesting things you have done in your career?
Getting to work with local and interstate ice hockey teams
What do you do to keep fit?
I try to get to the gym or go for a run 4-5 times per week and play as much social ice hockey as possible!
Greatest sporting achievement?
It would have to be winning a Beer League (social hockey) Championship with some of my best friends.
If you could jump on a plane and visit one city, which would it be?
I’ve been dying to get back to Japan with my friends, it’s one of my favourite places in the world.
Favourite thing to do outside of work?
I love nothing more than spending time with my partner and cat ‘Trousers’, listening to records or just hanging out with friends.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the south-west of WA! An awesome little part of the world, plenty of beaches and wineries.
What is your food weakness?
I am an absolute sweets addict. Chocolate, ice-cream, whatever. If its sweet, I’ll eat it.
