Meet Our Physiotherapist Carina Yip

Carina Yip
Why did you become a Physiotherapist?
I had a lot of injuries playing sports when I was a kid. I was fascinated to see what physios do and the process in how they got me back into playing sports, which was why I wanted to become a physiotherapist.
What sort of patients do you most enjoy helping?
I love treating sporting related injuries as there is nothing more annoying than not being able to play the sport you love. However, I also have an interest in paediatrics and helping individuals with their chronic pain!
Interesting things you have done in your career?
I had the opportunity to work as a sports trainer for a local footy club for 3 years which enabled me to help manage the players injuries. I was also able to work in paediatrics and help children build their fine and gross motor skills which was a lot of fun!
What do you do to keep fit?
I LOVE to go to the gym! This has become a big hobby of mine for the last few years. I also love cardio, so I usually go for runs or a swim!
Greatest sporting achievement?
Being voted best and fairest playing my first two years of footy was an exciting sporting achievement.
If you could jump on a plane and visit one city, which would it be?
I would love to go to Venice, Italy.
Favourite thing to do outside of work?
I love hanging out with my friends and family. I also love to read, paint and take care of my plants!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in East Doncaster!
What is your food weakness?
Bread! Any type of bread!
