Myofascial dry needling is a highly effective, usually painless technique. A common treatment method used to relieve stiff or tense muscles from the jaw to the feet.
Fine Filiform needles, otherwise known as 'acupuncture needles, will be placed into specific points in the muscle, known as Trigger Points. This effective therapy aims to release the trigger points. These are points which become tight, restricting range of movement through the muscle, causing pain and dysfunction to the area. Using the needles your therapist will access 'twitch responses', a response used to decrease local muscle tone and alleviate you pain.
Our Myotherapists, Podiatrists, and Physiotherapists, are all fully qualified in applying these tools and have excellent training in anatomy and the safe application of myofascial dry needles, ensuring the best patient outcomes.
Your practitioner will often use this technique as part of a broader therapy to deliver lasting relief from everyday joint restrictions, rehabilitation to an injury and soft tissue pains. As a patient you can enjoy a wider range of mobility, allowing you to return to your daily lives and make muscle pain a thing of the past.
