VALD ForceFrame Strength Testing: What It Is and Why It Works

Blog
Reading Time: 2 minutes

The VALD ForceFrame is a modern, state of the art system we use daily at Boost Health Collective to accurately measure and track strength.

We most often use VALD for three main purposes:
  • Injury assessment: comparing strength from one side of the body to the other, identifying weakness and/or asymmetry.
  • Tracking progress over time: collecting data to monitor improvements and make sure rehab is staying on track.
  • Athlete screening: general screening, identifying any areas of weakness before an injury occurs, and recording baseline data to compare to if an injury does occur.

Having VALD ForceFrames at our clinics provides us with accurate, instant data and gives us a clearer picture of how your body is functioning.

Here are some examples of how the system can help you:

Muscle strains

VALD assessment helps us measure exactly how much strength has been lost, determine the severity of the injury, guide rehab time frames, set exercise progressions, and decide when you’ve regained enough strength to safely return to sport or your usual activities.

Osteoarthritis

Pain can create a negative cycle: pain → disuse → weakness → more pain & repeat.
VALD strength testing helps us break the cycle by identifying weaknesses in various areas of the body, tracking progress over time, and ensuring our exercises are at the right level to create positive strength adaptations.

Athletes

Athletes often spend countless hours training, competing, and pushing to perform at their best. Over time, high level training can lead to overuse and strength imbalances. VALD athletic screening helps us spot weaknesses early, before they turn into bigger problems, so we can step in early and keep you performing injury free.

The VALD ForceFrame can test the strength of every major joint in the body, making it a valuable tool for almost everyone!  We use VALD regularly in 1:1 physio, podiatry, and myotherapy sessions, and we also offer VALD athletic screening appointments. Screening appointments focus specifically on targeted strength assessments, giving on the spot feedback and creating a plan for follow up or future comparison if an injury does occur. All results are stored securely in the VALD hub, so they can be reviewed and compared at any time.

Mehar was fabulous! Not only was she warm, welcoming and funny, but professional and thorough.
From the moment I walked in I felt well supported. She was able to identify what was going on, factoring in older ailments, and provide me with a treatment plan and options.
Her focus was on sustainable changes and support moving forward, and I had a written plan and clear explanations and clarifications on everything. I never felt like she was encouraging me to need to come back unnecessarily.
It took a few visits, and each time was met with the same warmth and professionalism. I got consistent progress and feel so much better now, even though it's a few months on from when I last saw her.
It's very clear she is wonderful at what she does, thinks about the whole person and I would definitely recommend her to others considering needing podiatry support.

The whole client therapist experience has been amazing. My Myotherapist provided me with a detailed plan to ensure my progress to meet my goals as well as addressing my issues of pain.

Each follow up session is reviewed, discussed and any changes added/deleted or modified.

The timely reminders and follow up from the clinic and experience with the Client Experience Officers have been always polite and friendly.

I've been coming here exclusively since my first consultation. I've had constant shoulder and arm pain from my line of work; the exercises my physio, Carina provided are easy to remember, not time consuming and super effective!

Bonus: the space feels super clean and calming - highly recommend coming here

I’ve been seeing Talia for a few weeks now for treatment on my shoulder bursitis. From day 1 she was great! She explained everything about my condition to me and what she wanted to do which helped me visualise my own recovery. Could not recommend her enough.
