Our state-of-the-art, 3 dimensional laser-scanning technology allows us to capture and display the unique shape and structure of your feet in only three seconds.
How does it work?
The scanner obtains a high level of detail, using laser and multi camera configuration, to produce a full colour 3D image that is accurate to within 0.05mm.
Our Podiatrist then designs the script online and sends it through to the Orthotic Laboratory, where they use advanced CAD-CAM manufacturing to create a unique, accurate and comfortable set of custom prescription foot orthoses.
What is so good about it?
- Reduces the chance of human error: Using the scanner significantly reduces human error for a more accurate prescription and better result for the patient.
- Saves time: The use of this technology saves time in creating the foot impression (three seconds per foot as opposed to a much lengthier process with traditional plaster casting!) and in sending the script to the lab, resulting in a faster turnaround of orthotics.
- Cloud storage: Scripts and images are stored in the cloud to be easily accessed in the future if a second pair of orthotics is required.
- More pleasant patient experience: The process is much more pleasant and less messy than traditional casting.
If you are suffering from foot pain, come and see us for a thorough biomechanical assessment to see whether you may benefit from orthotic therapy.
